Axel Hecklau's Lecture, "Details," is strong magic, high impact and practical with many details, as the name of the lecture says.

Axel Hecklau lives in Berlin / Germany. He presented his lecture already in more than 60 cities e.g. New York, Philladelphia, Vienna, Rome, Barcelona, Monte Carlo, and Berlin.

Axel Hecklau is 30 years in magic, a well known working pro in Germany, competed at 15 magic competitions and got 14 prizes e.g. FISM 1988 2. place ( Great Illusions ). The 15. competition was FISM 2003 with a 6. place and a standing ovation with his act as an old fashioned (funny) prussian police officer.

Since 2004 you can see him in Berlin in his own weekly close-up show. called close-up-club. If you seach on youtube "Axel Hecklau," you will find some demo videos of his inventions.

His lecture (practical stuff for parlor, stage and close-up) contains no "B" material. Everything is taken from his active repertoire and proofed in hundreds of shows in front of laypeople. Gene Anderson commented on his T&R Newspaper, "Newsflash" as "Brilliant - absolutely brilliant."

I just attended his lecture in Louisville. It was a fantastic lecture. Probably the best thing I took away from it was how he took previous effects and put additional thought and invention into them to take them to the next level: - Newsflash and One Cup for example. We also had the pleasant surprise of Gene Anderson popping in. It was a nice moment when during the explanation of Newsflash, Axel was referring to previous methods and gave a polite bow toward Gene. If you get a chance to see him lecture, go!

Axel lectured at my place. It was fantastic! Everything about the lecture was top-notch. His choice of effects showed a lot of variety and great thought. News-Flash was, of course, what brought most people there and it certainly met or exceeded everyone‘s expectations, but they weren‘t expecting all of the other great material. Cue Control is a wonderful solution to the issue of music control and interested many in attendance. His Center tear routining is so well thought out. The spoon routine and Cola Cap were the best solutions to those effects I‘ve seen. One of my personal favorites was his idea on the One Coin routine and that is going right into my working repertoire. I could go on and on, but I would encourage all of you to see Axel Hecklau lecture. You will be entertained and learn a lot.
